Activities
Main activities: 
  • The two native seals and biggest predators of the wadden sea World Heritage, Harbour and Grey Seal, can be observed all year round from few meter's distance
  • While feeding the captive animals, the caretakers give talks about their biology and about the jobs of the seal station
  • The breeding area for the wild pups is only accesible for staff, but can be seen from the observation tower, the exhibition building and on video screens
  • An exhibition gives knowledge about native marine mammals, their biology, endangerement and protective measures in the Wadden Sea National Park and World Heritage
  • On request we offer guided tours, rallye sheets, talks, games and much more
Additional activities: 
  • The Friedrichskoog Seal Breeding Station is the only veterinary station authorized by the Schleswig Holstein state government to treat abandoned or sick seals and seal pups. Bringing up pups who lost their mother is the station's most important job during summer. In late summer, these young seals are returned to the National Park
  • A mixed group of Harbour and Grey Seals lives permanently in the station
  • Naturally designed pools with two underwater display windows
  • Information about native seals and marine mammals
