Seals, Grey Seals and Harbour Purpoises can be observed from the beach, sometimes at few meter's distance. The Hörnum sand spit bird reserve with its salt marshes Northeast from the village is an important resting ground to thousands of coastal birds. Pristine dunes form the landscape over 10 Kilometres to the North.
  • The Schutzstation visitor centre at Hörnum offers guided tours and activities.
  • The National Park exhibition provides information about marine mammals, dunes and tidal flats. There are fish tanks and a touch pool.
