Anniversary Bike Tour 2019

One Wadden Sea. Two Wheels. Three Countries.

The Anniversary Bike Tour will be the highlight of the 10th anniversary celebrations. Two cyclist groups will start on 18 June in Ho Bugt, Denmark, and on 19 June on Vlieland, Netherlands. En route, the cyclists will stop at local celebrations, thereby drawing a golden thread to unite all Wadden Sea regions. Our tour crosses the finish line on 30 June in Wilhelmshaven. At the Südstrandpromenade at the edge of Jade Bay the Wadden Sea World Heritage Experience Festival, open from 10 to 18.00, marks the end of the tour. The tour and stops can be explored in the map above. In the area and want to bike along? Join the group for a day’s stage. The daily routes can be explored below. Or join the anniversary activities at the day’s tour stop.

The participation in a daily stage of the bike tour is free-of-charge. However, there may be costs charged for additional activities at the day stops. Participation is at your own risk. Please bring a safe bicycle. The road traffic regulations apply. Follow the instructions of the support team. By participating, you agree to the use of photos and videos taken during the tour.

The Anniversary Bike Tour and the final event are sponsored by the Danish Ministry for Environment and Food, the Dutch Ministry for Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, as well as the Lower Saxon Ministry for Environment, Energy, Building, and Climate Protection and the European Union in the framework of the Interreg project PROWAD LINK.
