In November and December 2022 two workshops on nature- and climate-friendly ferries took place in Leer and Oldenburg (Lower Saxony). Experts and stakeholders from the national park authority, environmental NGOs, water police, academia, tourism, as well as commercial and recreational shipping came together to discuss sustainable ferries in the Wadden Sea.
The nocturnal Wadden landscape has served as a source of inspiration for storytellers for centuries.

During the Day of the Wadden Sea (Dag van het wad) on 25 June the first Dutch "ambassadeurs" of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site were honoured.
On 24-26 June 2022, the first Wadden Sea March (Waddenmars) was held in the Netherlands. Nearly 30 young adults participated in this unique event in the Dutch Wadden Sea area.

On 12-13 May 2022, the Omgevingsberaad Waddenzee (OBW) made a study visit to Lower Saxony in preparation for the Trilateral Governmental Conference.
On 14 April, Mayor Caroline van de Pol of Terschelling presented a World Heritage badge to three voluntary rangers.
