Online

The Trilateral Wadden Sea Visitor Survey 2020/21 is the first visitor study conducted in the three Wadden Sea states Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands simultaneously. The survey provides information about the accommodation guest are staying at, where they get their information about their holiday destination from, perception of guests on services offered in the destination, the importance of sustainable tourism and the World Heritage status of the Wadden Sea. For small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, it offers insight information on their guest, what they are interested in, which aspects of their holiday is important to them and what they like to do while on holiday.

In this 45-minute webinar on 18 May at 10:00 CEST, Catharina Greve of the National Park Authority offers insights on the survey's results for entrepreneurs, destination  management organisations, NGOs and governmental bodies.

The survey was conducted from June to October 2020 and April to August 2021 (delays due to the pandemic) and led by the National Park Authority Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea/Agency for Coastal Defence, National Park and Marine Conservation, and organised and analysed by the NIT (Institute for Tourism and Spa Research) in cooperation with ETFI (The European Tourism Futures Institute) in the framework of Interreg project “PROWAD Link”.
