In the beginning of May, the midterm meeting of the German-Dutch Wadden Sea Research Programme in Wilhelmshaven provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the scientific progress of the six funded Projects and share knowledge and utilisation products.

The meeting underscores the importance of coordinated cooperation for the sustainable development of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site.

The meeting included sessions in Husum, Germany, and Thyborøn, Denmark, alongside visits to the pilot sites at the Halligen islands and the Lodbjerg–Nymindegab area.

Held online on 3 March 2026, the meeting provided an opportunity to present the overall aims and approach of the project.

The Steering Group of the FLY2 Coastal Wetlands Project met to review the progress on the project's framework development.

This international programme invites Bachelor’s and Master’s students to explore how sea level rise is reshaping the ecological and cultural values of the Wadden Sea.
